Some churches will allow designations to Bulgarian Child, Inc. through their giving process. Check with your church if this is an option that you desire. Bear in mind that we will not know your identity if you give in this manner and thus not be able to add you to our information systems.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

YES... Bulgarian Child, Inc. was formed in January of 2001 and chartered in Tennessee as a non-profit organization.  

Our IRS ruling letter was issued August 1, 2001 and is retroactive to December 27, 2000. A copy of that letter is available in an Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file by clicking here. It is about 180k to download and is an exact copy of the original document.

How will I know if the money I give will be used properly?

• The integrity of the individuals involved.

• All financial statements are available upon request.

• A financial review will be performed annually by Stewart & Wheeler, P.C. and their letter will be published on this web site. (click here to view letter using Adobe Acrobat).

• Our goals and financial information are published with along with our IRS Form 990.

• Copies of our charter and by-laws are available upon request.

A NOTE ABOUT FINANCES

Bulgarian Child, Inc. has NO staff salaries - literally NO paid help other than day workers (Bulgarian Nationals) assisting in the Bulgarian Orphanages. All of the other work done for Bulgarian Child is done completely by volunteers.

This includes administration, staff and board members.
 

In addition, all stateside expenses of the office, computers, printing etc. are being covered by specifically designated donations. 
 

EVERY dollar of funds that is given by you will go to Bulgaria and be spent directly on the children or their environments. 
 

This is a labor of love for us all.
