Tri Kladentsi

Tri Kladentsi is a home that  is in a village buried in the countryside and is at the end of a dead-end dirt road on the outskirts of the village.

It is a beautiful setting with lots of open space and facilities that are in fairly decent shape.  In contrast to some of the writings that we've seen about this home we found the facilities to be in better shape than most of the other homes that we've visited.

The Director (on right) greeted us pleasantly and allowed us to go wherever we wished in the home.

Our guide was a youngster that suffers from a disease that stunts his growth but he was a real delight to us and showed us around the facility with enthusiasm.

He's obviously loved here as shown by the great big hug that he got from one of the staff at the home as we entered the kitchen.

This children are absolutely wonderful - full of smiles and happy to see "outsiders".

On this day, because of the beautiful weather and the guests that they were expecting, all of the kids were outside (even those that couldn't walk).

While there are obvious disabilities, most of these kids are ambulatory and can accomplish many tasks.

There is a very large vegetable garden that is well tended supplying vegetables to the home.

and a lovely playyard between the buildings even if the swings and other equipment is not in good shape.

Facilities inside the home (showers, laundry etc.) are all in good shape.  The kitchen was clean and there is a nice little dining room.

The bedrooms, while spartan, are clean, neat and the beds and mattresses are in good shape.

As with so many of the other homes there is no evidence of any personal items or even a "huggie bear".

In the "administrative wing" there was a room full of toys which appear to be simply a display for guests to see.  These toys are never used by the kids.

There were two puzzles in evidence in the recreation room for the kids but that was all we saw for them.

Many of these children seemed to be border-line normal and were really delightful and well-behaved.

Interestingly we found crafts even here in this home and lots in indication of this kind of thing being created by the staff in conjunction with the kids.
